3D Printing (AM) commonly known as Additive Manufacturing , is printing solid objects from a digital file and dramatically changing the future of manufacturing as we know it. Advances have been made in the fields of Medicine with the printing of human organs from patients own cells to the printing of cars and aviation components and concrete housing.
3D Printing (AM) has the capability to produce complex designs not able to be produced in any other way. There is a long term process in creating dies and molds for trials and modifications before ultimate production can take place. 3D printing cuts out the long term modification and trial process and spare parts and replacements can now be printed on the factory floor saving both time and money and doing away with transportation costs and delays.
