DRIVING A 3D PRINTED CAR IS NO LONGER A DREAM.
A few years ago, a novelty began showing up at auto shows alongside the newest concept cars. These vehicle creations on display were not for sale and would not be mass produced. But they showed a future where transportation could be made that is affordable and accessible. We’re talking about 3D-printed cars. Starting in 2019, it could be a reality that people will be driving down the road in cars that were made using 3D printing.

Bio printed organs are a new thing of the future. Organs like the heart, kidney, and liver can now be artificially created. It has made organs that were once scarce, available to patients in need. Using MRI scans doctors can plan and develop a new kind of procedure with artificial organs. So far, these organs are created using the recipients own cells which eliminate the possibility for organ rejection when implanted. 
Printing using biological cells proved to be very difficult in the past because of their soft and delicate structure. These cells would often collapse in the early stages of organ printing. Today however, cells are printed inside of a special gel that helps keep its structure.  After the printing is finished, the gel is melted away by heating the organ to body temperature.

3D Printed Homes

Back in 2016, a team of architects in Chicago proposed an amazing design for a 3D printed house made of printed plastic, carbon-fiber panels, and glazed walls. The team won first prize in the Freeform Home Design Challenge and for a good reason. 

The design for the 3D printed dwelling is incredibly bold and, compared to other examples above, makes the most of the technology. Called Curve Appeal, the building is actually a thing of beauty. 

The plan was to 3D print the building in Chattanooga in Tennessee. It is planned to be completed in 2020.
